I’m incredibly thankful for the mentors that guided me at different points along my journey, so I was particularly inspired to sit down with Vinothini “Vino” Raju, a visionary entrepreneur, and her mentor Diane Mueller, a seasoned leader in the tech industry. “You have to be risk taking, you need to have confidence, you need to know how to balance, and you need to know how to make your adversities work the best for you.”
Today, she is founder and CEO of gopaddle, which offers DevOps consulting and a low-code integrated development environment (IDE) for Kubernetes. Kubernetes, often called “the operating system for the cloud,” is an open-source platform used by half of Fortune 500 companies to manage and deploy containerized applications at scale.

“Can we use the outcomes from AI to make decisions? And what are the security and compliance challenges that come along the way? I think that’s the biggest challenge that we have today. We have put forward a workflow where developers can use generative AI much more comfortably.”

For both Vino and Diane, success goes beyond traditional metrics like revenue or status; it’s about creating meaningful impact. Vino’s perspective on success has evolved over the years, shifting from numbers and headcounts to purpose and resilience. “If you don’t see yourself in the room, you don’t feel like you belong in the room. For most of my career, I’ve been out there, openly queer, and now I’m 62, still here. Representation is being there, standing up, and saying, ‘Get used to it.”
